About Lifecoping
The Life of man is "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short"
(Thomas Hobbes, Leviathan)
Fortunately, this is not true for most of us in the developed world. Yet, despite unparalleled material wealth and longevity we still find happiness and contentment elusive.
Life inevitably involves ups and downs, good news and bad, joys, problems and challenges.
LIFECOPING is a philosophy and practice which is grounded in the realities of life. It recognises that life is not always easy, that there will be bad things as well as good. LIFECOPING does not pretend that there are easy or even painless solutions to life's problems nor a simple key to unlock the door to happiness.
But just in case we've depressed you, the good news is that LIFECOPING can help you find balance, meaning and contentment, provide you with the tools to ensure long term emotional health and cope with the issues that life throws in your path.
Like coaching, mentoring and counselling LIFECOPING is based on a committed, therapeutic relationship and helps individuals overcome fears and anxieties, unlock their potential and identify and achieve what they really want in different areas of life - work, leisure, relationships.
However, LIFECOPING acknowledges that it is an illusion to think you can have complete control over everything that happens in your world. But you can control your attitudes, your beliefs and your thoughts; you can make the right choices; you can be active instead of passive; you can manage your emotions. And by learning to exercise a degree of control over your internal world you can improve your experience of life.
